Creative Evolution

Recently, a friend,who studies mathematical ecology, recommended me to read Creative Evolution proposed by Henri Bergson.When he was the lower grades in his undergraduate, he went about reading books whose name were "••• Evolution ", and he read it, but at that time, he could not find the relationship between the contents of it and Evolution , he felt that it did not concern the idea of Evolution in biology, on the contrary, it expressed the idea which was totally different from "Evolution "in biology, so 

He forgot almost of the contents of it........

However after interdisciplinary workshop, somehow he remembered it , 

and he talked about it to me.

He said "I waded through it several years ago, but I will pore over it in near future, 

so READ IT BY ALL MEANS! "

For the reason like this, I began to read it........

I have read the first chapter for now,

I feel something wrong , from the point where 

I study quantum mechanics, statistical physics for equivalent systems and solid state physics.

It was proposed before the proposal of Quantum mechanics!

どういう風の吹き回しかしら、

最近、数理生態学の友人の勧めでアンリ・ベルクソンの「創造的進化」を読み始めた。

友人は、学部低学年の時に、「進化」と名前につく本をせっせと読んだようで、その時にこれもざっと読んだらしい。当時、彼は、生物学の「進化」という概念と内容との関連を見出せず、それどころか、関連が無い、「進化」とは全く違うものだとすら感じたらしく、興味も失せて、忘れてしまった。

ところが、最近、学際ワークショップの影響なのか、ふと思い出したようで、そして、何故か「固体物性物理の理論をやってる」私とその話になった。

彼は、「私は、昔、ざっと読んで、《あの内容は、生態学の研究してる立場からすると進化とは関連ない》と言ってるけど、本当にうる覚えもいいところ……だから、今、やっぱり気になって、もう一度熟読してみようと思う。有名な本のようですし、ぜひ、貴方も！！」

と強く勧めてきて。

彼とは研究の分野がまるで違うし、まあ話をあわせるためにもざっと読んでみようと思ったわけであります。

ちなみに、私の生物学の教養レベルとしては、学部時代に数理生態学、生物間相互作用、動物行動学の講義を受けていて、今でも生態学の教員や友達から生態学の研究の話を聞くけど、ミクロの方は全然。

で、第1章を読んだところ、

量子力学、平衡系の統計物理学、固体物性物理を勉強してきた立場からすると、違和感があるというかいろいろ突っ込みたくなる（笑）！

量子力学が提案される数十年前の話だから仕方ないのだけど……(^^;;
